We often have people drive or fly in from other states to pick up their dogs or puppies.Some buyers are unable to visit or meet us. There are a couple of options on transport.
With how I raise my puppies, they have traveled in a crate and have been in a crate every week for several weeks for short periods of time.
Puppies 2-3 months of age can fly in cabin in a pet back under the seat in front of you. Puppies 4 months and older fly in a hard sided crate in the cargo hold.
Cargo shipping is not scary for dogs or puppies. Being acclimated to a crate, they think they're just going on another car ride. If flying home with your pet in the hold,
they travel in an air pressurised and temperature controlled hold. I fly with my dogs to dog shows in the US several times each year. I have even flown with
one of my Champion kuvasz to Sweden, and with her puppy back to the US 2 years later.
Since covid, the only airlines flying pets in the hold are Alaska Airlines with small to large size crates, and for medium to small crates Delta Airlines. All airlines fly puppies in cabin.
We will ship to the West Coast, and on flights that do not require overnight boarding services in Seattle. All others must be picked up in person or use a flight nanny to get the best connections for flights.
Contact us prior to booking flights for best dates. Puppies cannot leave until they are 8 weeks old.

At the airports, airline employees trypically love when I have am flying with, or have puppies & dogs to ship cargo. Employees from other airlines even come over to pet the puppies and hold them.
Puppies typically arrive at their destination clean and happy to see their new family.
If traveling by air to their new home would be less time in a travel crate than driving, it is probably less stressful for a puppy or dog to fly to their
new home.

For an 8 week old puppy flying in a standard small, 100 size crate: Add $500 in addition to the purchase price for transportation by air freight. This price includes
the required health certificate and shipping crate on all Alaska Airlines. Your puppy will arrive in a hard plastic kennel that you keep and own.
For older puppies or dogs shipped in larger kennels it is more. Airlines charge by the kennel size and total weight of the dog and kennel.
We can plan all of the arrangements that are best for the puppy or dog.
People flying in to get their puppy will pay shipping fees themselves and will need to bring or borrow a soft crate for in cabin or hard crate for excess baggage.
Average excess baggage fee for puppy flying with person on flight is $100-200 per way depending on the airline. AKC endeavors to maintain a current list

There are often inexpensive flights from most hub cities into Missoula, Butte, Helena if you want to fly in and hand carry your puppy home with you on the
plane:

Puppy nanny service is if you cannot fly in yourself, and you purchase the ticket for someone to fly for you and hand carry your puppy under the
seat with them. I do a lot of puppy nanny flight to Seattle, WA & Anchorage, AK. You must prepay the cost of the flight, puppy fee, and every flight nanny charges
their own fee.
We have sold puppies to homes in Hawaii using the 5 Day or Less Quarantine program. For puppies going to Hawaii, view Hawaii's new quarantine laws to have your 10 month old puppy within 5 days of
being shipped to Hawaii. Due to the minimum amount of time needed to prepare a puppy to meet the requirements of the 5-Day-Or-Less program, a puppy will be
about 5 months of age by the time the preparations are completed. We will not sell to HI homes who do not meet all of the requirements for the 5-Day-Or-Less program,
as they will be quarantined in HI for 120 days. Boarding is $35/day past 8 weeks of age, plus all veterinarian and quarantine fees involved.
We will only export dogs if the buyer is able to pick up the dog in person and fly with the dogs. For US export information: USDA-APHIS import/export shipping regulations
